Now, if you know me well, you may have just keeled over at the mention of me making a mini album. I don't DO mini albums. At least not complete ones ;) I was going to post "Exhibit A" here: my pile of unfinished minis. But I looked at them and A) it was too shameful and B) I decided to ditch them all and start over with a whole new mini album philosophy.
So, this summer, I've decided I wanted a way to scrap some of the little pictures that aren't going to make it onto a full-sized scrapbook page. I don't want to do a project-life type project and I like the freedom of one larger space to work with, rather than a pre-defined layout. Plus, as my "mini" is sized at 7" x 9" and this is an ongoing project, I'm hoping I won't fall victim to my usual ADHD-style issues and lose interest. I will treat them more as smaller, individual scrapbook pages and then just bind them together at the end. I'll never even know I'm making a mini until BOOM! It's done! ;)
Today I am sharing the front cover and the first page of the album.
A lot of the supplies have come from various JBS Mercantile kits, but it's mostly just an eclectic mix of things I love coupled with whatever happens to be within arms reach at the time ;)
The title was cut with my Silhouette, and the yellow flowers were hand cut from the reverse of the background paper.
Another Silhouette cut as a simple embellishment inside the front cover.
Mmmm, yellow roses :) The fabric rose sticker came from a sheet that I spotted my friend Tessa using. I loved them but couldn't find them anywhere so I was delighted when she sweetly sent me a package as a gift. I finally used one here!
Yummy Ormolu flair... I have a whole basket ful of Ormolu goodies. I'm trying very hard to stop stroking them and start using them.

In my quest to provide useful info and inspiration on my blog, from now on I will endeavour to share with you what I call "springboards" from the projects I share on my blog. Springboards are starting points or ideas to help get the inspiration flowing or encourage you to try something different.

Thanks for visiting me today! I'll be back with a few more pages from my mini album soon :)

ReplyDeletebeutiful work ♥
I can't wait to see more of this, you have a beautiful start! I love the way you did the title and the little flowers peeking out from behind. Oh and that roses layout, sooooo pretty and fresh, I love yellow roses too.
